This course teaches you core hairdressing skills with a strong focus on African hair. You begin with hair and scalp anatomy, common problems such as dandruff or breakage and the importance of consultation before any service.

Practical lessons show how to wash and condition hair correctly, do basic treatments and blow-dry without causing damage. You then move into sectioning, parting and the hand positions needed for neat braiding.

You will learn a variety of braiding styles such as single plaits, cornrows, twists, box braids and simple updos, with tips on speed, neatness and tension control to protect clients’ edges. The course also covers basic wig maintenance and installing simple weaves or wigs.

Business-focused modules introduce service menus, pricing per style, time management in a salon setting and how to handle bookings and walk-in clients. By the end, you will be able to offer a range of hair services either in a professional salon or as a mobile/home stylist.
